My name is Tina Wildfeuer and I am so pleased and grateful to be serving as your Parent Liaison at Northbridge Middle School! This new position is being funded by the Title I grant and has been established to serve all families within the school. I am very excited to have this opportunity to work with you and your family!
My husband and I moved to Northbridge 14 years ago. We have two children who’ve both attended Northbridge Public Schools since their preschool days. One is currently a Senior attending Northbridge High School, the other is a Freshman who is attending BVT this year.
I left the workforce when my youngest was born. To fill my days once they both entered school I frequently volunteered in NPS. In various capacities such as volunteering in the classroom, photocopying, chaperoning, being a member of the PTA, Balmer School Council and Safety Team in younger grades, through serving on committees for events like 4th grade celebration and 8th grade dinner dance, and joining the NHS School Council, I’ve loved it all! At NMS, I chaired Book Fairs for 5 years, was a Box Tops co-coordinator for 4 years, parent rep on the PBIS Team for 3 years, and parent volunteer coordinator for 3 years. I am currently a member of the NMS School Council, NPS Wellness Committee, the District Advisory Council, and I volunteer regularly at the NMS Community Closet.
With both children now in High School and volunteer opportunities limited, I was thrilled to learn of and be hired for this Liaison position which allows me to maintain and build upon the relationships I’ve formed with so many NMS families, as well as those I have with NMS teachers, administration, and staff. I’m grateful to have the opportunity to continue to be involved here at NMS because I’ve seen such positive changes happening over the years as parents and the community have become more a part of the fabric of the NMS Community. I’m a firm believer in the benefits of a genuine, positive home-school partnership and I look forward to continuing to grow, nurture, and support that connection between you and your child(ren)’s school.
My role as your parent liaison is to serve as a bridge of communication between NMS parents, teachers, and students. I will strive to provide parents with practical information to allow you to support your child(ren) through their studies and social interactions, and to provide useful and valuable assistance relating to questions, concerns, and/or issues within our school community. I will be a listening ear to your concerns and aim to help find a resolution, if needed.
As parent liaison, some of my duties are to:
- Serve as a leader in developing parent-teacher/school staff relationships among school personnel
- Lead in the coordination and promotion of a variety of parent/family participation activities
- Facilitate parent meetings, workshops, and two-way communication in collaboration with teachers
- Foster relationships/partnerships with outside community and educational organizations focused on family engagement linked to learning
- Communicate and coordinate academic activities for parents with teachers
Northridge Public Schools administration understands the importance of engaging families in meaningful and culturally appropriate ways. I encourage you to take advantage of the opportunity to actively support your child(ren)’s development and learning by being as involved as you can be, whether that’s at home, also in the school, or both! I welcome your input and suggestions regarding activities, events, and information that you’d enjoy or find useful as an NMS parent. And if there is anything I can do to assist you or your child, now or in the future, please don’t hesitate to contact me by email or by calling me at 508-234-8718 ext. 2118.
