The Great Halloween Candy Give Back

Tuesday, November 1st

NES Lobby

The Great Halloween Candy Give Back helps to share memories of home with our troops and brightens their day. After this year’s trick-or-treating festivities, we invite your child to set aside a portion of their candy for deployed American troops. Students will have an opportunity to drop off their candy upon entering the building.

NES staff are using "dress down" collection this month to pay for postage.

HEARTS Character Education Program

HEARTS Character Education Program is social-emotional curriculum developed by Northbridge Elementary School Teachers. They have chosen activities that integrate the arts (visual arts, music, movement, storytelling, drama and poetry) that offer engaging activities for school and home. Student activities support the developmental readiness skills to provide each student opportunities for success. During the course of this school year NES staff will highlight the following character traits:

Honesty (September)
Effort (October)
Achievement (November)
Respect & Responsibility (January & February)
Teamwork (March)
Safety & Self-Control (April & May)

In addition to the classroom activities and whole-school assemblies, there is a home-school component that is located in the virtual back-pack on the NES website

Safety Procedures

The safety of all children in our school is very important to us.  In order to maintain a safe environment for our children to study and learn, it is necessary that we continually practice our emergency and crisis response plans by having drills designed to exercise our procedures.

We will conduct various drills that is continuing through-out the school year.  This letter is to help you understand the importance of these drills as well as to understand each type of drill.
