Truancy and Attendance Notice

There is no doubt and research proves that one of the keys to academic achievement is excellent attendance. Consistent participation in school and school activities is important for making a successful transition from youth to adulthood. Student tardiness and truancy are challenges that confront many schools including the Northbridge Public Schools. Excellent attendance is a priority for all students.  We want all of our students to be successful and achieve at high levels.  Did you know that students who are absent more than ten school days are at risk for academic failure and dropping out of school?

HEARTS Character Education Program

HEARTS Character Education Program is social-emotional curriculum developed by Northbridge Elementary School Teachers. They have chosen activities that integrate the arts (visual arts, music, movement, storytelling, drama and poetry) that offer engaging activities for school and home. Student activities support the developmental readiness skills to provide each student opportunities for success. During the course of this school year NES staff will highlight the following character traits:

Honesty (September)
Effort (October)
Achievement (November)
Respect & Responsibility (January & February)
Teamwork (March)
Safety & Self-Control (April & May)

In addition to the classroom activities and whole-school assemblies, there is a home-school component that is located in the virtual back-pack on the NES website
