MCAS Extra Help Sessions - Sign Up Now!
Northbridge High School is the recipient of an Academic Support Grant to assist students in preparing for MCAS. Sessions are in the Media Center on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 2 to 4 PM and on Thursday from 6 to 8 PM. For additional information: Link
To Parents/Guardians and Members of the Class of 2012
All parents should have been provided with a copy of the Program of Studies Guide as well as a copy of the Ninth Grade Course Selection Sheet. The eighth grade team will use this sheet to make course and level recommendations for your incoming freshman's schedule. All schedules, complete with recommendations, must be returned to the eighth grade team no later than April 4, 2008. See link for more information: Link.
Sat Prep Classes for Juniors
Classes will be held at Northbrige HIgh School. Math is on Mondays from 6 to 8 p.m. English is on Wednesdays from 6 to 8 p.m. Classes will meet for 8 consescutive weeks (no classes during April vacation). Classes start Monday, March 3. Cost for Prep classes is $60.00 per course. Make checks payable to NHS. Students must sign up in guidance or pay at the first class. SAT Test is Sat May 3 at Northbridge High School. Scholarships for Seniors
Applications for the following local scholarships are available in the guidance office:
- Whitinsville Woman's Club Scholarships - must be a resident of the Town of Northbridge - Application deadline 3/14/08
- Donald K. Lange and Elinor H. Lange Scholarship ($1,000) - awarded to a Northbridge High school senior who will enter college in the fall. Must include an essay describing "why you have chosen to pursue your major and what influenced your decision." Deadline is March 15, 2008.
- Uxbridge Rotary Club Scholarship ($2,000) - awarded to a Northbridge High School senior who will enter a 2 or 4 year college in the fall. This scholarship is based on academics and community service, financial need. Deadline date is March 17, 2008.
- Unibank for Savings Scholarship - must be a Northbridge High School student -Application deadline 3/21/08
- Milford Federal Savings and Loan Association Scholarship ($1,000) - awarded to a Northbridge senior who will enter a 2 or 4 year college in the fall. This scholarship is based on academics, character and school and community service. Deadline date is March 24, 2008.
- Greater Worcester Community Foundation Scholarships These scholarships vary in amount from $250 to $6,000. Three are designated for Northbridge High School graduates. However, by filing out the application booklet you may be eligible for others. Applications are available on lline at www.greaterworcester.org and are also avaiable in guidance. Application deadline is March 24, 2008.
- The Daniel P. Madigan Memorial Scholarship ($5,000) - awarded to a Northbridge HIgh School senior that will major in engineering or science in college. Application available in guidance. Due by March 28, 2008.
- Amy Lapointe Toomey Memorial Scholarship ($1,000) - awarded to a Northbridge senior who will pursue a degree in elementary education (preK-4). Must include an essay outlining reasons and goals for selecting this career path. Deadline is April 2, 2008.
- Yvette Manosh Scholarship ($1,000) Criteria: resident of Northbridge,3.0 GPA, financial need. Applications avaiable in guidance. Application deadline is April 2, 2008.
- Paul David Woodman Jr. Scholarship ($1,500) This award is designated for a Northbridge High School Varsity Basketball player. Applicatoins available in guidance. Application deadline is April 2, 2008.
- Ronald P. Safer Memorial Scholarship This $1,000 scholarship is designated for a Norhbridge High School senior that will enter college in the fall. Student must submit an essay answering the question - "What does commitment mean to you?" Deadline is April 2.
- Heather Ann Kacmarcik Memorial Scholarship A $1,000 scholarship is offered to a graduating senior who will enter college in the fall. Applications are available in the guidance office. Applications must be submitted to guidance by April 18.
- Edward L. Riley Memorial Scholarship This scholarship in the amount of $2,000 is designated for a Northbridge High School senior that will be entering college in the fall. Essay question is required. Due date is April 18.
- J. Leo Roy Memorial Scholarship This scholarship in the amount of $300 will be awarded to a graduating senior of Northbridge High School that will enter college in the fall. Application deadline is May 2, 2008.

Northbridge High School Operation Graduation

Northbridge High School Accreditates in 2008
Northbridge High School is completing the self-study process leading towards our visit from the New England Association of Schools & Colleges (NEASC) currently scheduled for May 5 - 7, 2008. This visit is a culmination of an eighteen-month intensive self-assessment of what our community and we provide as an educational experience for our high school students.
We need every stakeholder's participation throughout this process. Please take some time and view the The Meaning and Value of Accreditation document and the Standards of Accreditation diagram.
