Communication in the Event of Inclement Weather

As you know, the Northbridge Public Schools always put student safety at the forefront of our decisions. However, we do try to limit the number of delays and school closings, when feasible.

In the event that school needs to be canceled or delayed due to inclement weather, NPS will try to provide families/staff with as much advance notice as possible, but no later than 6:00 a.m. the day of the closing/delay. Along with sending out a push notification and voice/email message through Apptegy/Thrillshare, we will also post the cancellations/delays on the following media stations:

WBZ TV - Ch. 4, WBZ Radio 1030 AM, WCVB TV – Ch. 5, WSRS 96.1 FM, NBC TV - Ch. 7, WTAG Radio 580 AM, Fox 25 News

If there is a morning delay (one or two hours), each school will start one or two hours after its designated start time. The start times for each of the schools are as follows:

NHS: 7:25 A.M. NMS: 7:40 A.M. NES: 8:25 A.M.

*** If we do a morning delay, there are NO MORNING ALPHABEST SERVICES and NO MORNING PRE-SCHOOL.

The dismissal times for an early (half-day) dismissal at each school are as follows (unless the severity of the weather warrants a change in release times):

NHS: 10:50 A.M. NMS: 11:00 A.M. NES: 11:30 A.M.

*** In the event of an early dismissal, or a full day cancellation, there will be NO AFTERNOON ALPHABEST SERVICES and NO AFTERNOON PRE-SCHOOL.
