Linewize Student Online Safety
To help keep your child safe and focused while using technology, Northbridge Public Schools has adopted Linewize as our web filtering and online safety platform. Linewize is used by thousands of schools to help provide a safer digital learning environment for students.
How are we using Linewize?
Northbridge Public Schools uses Linewize to:
Help protect students from harmful, inappropriate, or unsafe online content.
Support compliance with the Children's Internet Protection Act (CIPA).
Help students stay focused on educational activities while using school technology.
Provide tools that help identify potential online safety concerns so the district can respond appropriately when needed.
When and how does Linewize operate?
Linewize operates on school-managed devices and school-managed Google Workspace for Education accounts. Filtering and monitoring are active whenever students are using district-managed Chromebooks and when they are signed into their Northbridge Public Schools Google account in the Chrome browser. This helps provide a consistent and safer online experience for students while using school technology.
What are my responsibilities as a parent or guardian?
We ask that students use their school-managed Google accounts and district-issued devices for educational purposes and in accordance with the Northbridge Public Schools Empowered Use Policy.
When students are using district devices or accounts outside of school, parents and guardians remain responsible for supervising their child's internet use. We encourage families to discuss appropriate online behavior, digital citizenship, and internet safety with their children. If you become aware of cyberbullying, concerning online activity, or other digital safety issues, please notify the school so we can work together to address the situation.
Our goal is to partner with families to create a safe, positive, and productive digital learning environment for every student.
